Dementia Friends Champions

Dementia Friends Champion

A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help.

A few weeks ago, Sue Ticehurst our Social Value Manager, along with 4 key staff attended the induction course to become a Dementia Friends Champion, which was held by Notting Hill Genesis. They have become the first people within our business to be Dementia Champions.

Going forward, we will be including an element of Dementia awareness within our Induction programme to ensure all of our staff are aware of this condition when attending sites that may have residents with this condition.
