All hands on deck for the clean up!
Following a fire in one of our client’s sites, the A2 Dominion team came to the rescue once again. Colleagues donated their own time to assist with the removal of the remains after the fire and the cleaning of the resident’s home, as well as decontaminating the communal areas affected by smoke damage.

Just Ask staff are volunteering their spare time
We have asked all our employees to voluntarily donate four hours of their time over the next year. Contract mangers will be meeting with local housing officers to find out where this time can be best spent. One team has recently given up their own time to support a resident who, due to his mental health and drug problems, was not able to manage his own garden. This support has improved the relationship between the young man and other residents, who had been concerned about the state of his garden for some time.

Summer BBQ at The Orchards
The Orchards sheltered accommodation offers residents the independence of having their own room in a home from home environment. On the 18th August Yan, Kristina and Sue Ticehurst held a BBQ for the residents at the Orchards. The BBQ was a great success; we held a raffle and played the residents’ favourite music. We received an email from Hyde Housing the following day, thanking us. Everyone had enjoyed meeting up with old friends.

Following the tragic events of the 14th June 2017, a big thank you to Nij and his team on A2 Dominion for supporting in the area, at what must have been a very difficult time. The team went out in the Just Ask vans collecting donations from surrounding areas, and taking them to the Grenfell Community Centre where residents affected by the fire were able to go along and collect donated items.

Home starter packs
Just Ask have donated home starter packs to a homeless scheme in Essex. These packs contain items such as bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery, utensils toothbrushes and soap. Basic items like this can make a real difference to many of the new residents who have been previously homeless and have now found a place to live in one of our clients’ schemes. Just Ask are also looking to work with the homeless schemes to support people back into employment.
